 he film “1917,” directed by Sam Mendes was released in December of 2019. It captures the dire story of a day on April 6, 1917, during World War I. This movie doesn't capture the action of the war, but it depicts two soldiers on a single mission fighting against time, not the enemy.

It was a film on urgently stopping operation D Company of the 2nd Devons, which is in the last wave of the attack. As the company starts to move toward the front, Schofield tries to reach Colonel Mackenzie from walking into a death trap. Lance Corporal Schofield and Lance Corporal Blake are persistent in delivering a message after the operation was halted. It saved the lives of countless soldiers.
